A small shop, drawn as a stroll around one block

Terra Viva! is the street name of Plenitude Comércio e Distribuição de Produtos, a neighborhood retailer on the south side of São Paulo. Forget aisles and picture five stops sketched on a hand-drawn map: behind each letter sits one family of goods the company is registered to sell.

The drawing is no official plan and no traffic guide. It simply lets a newcomer see, at a glance, what waits past the back gate.

Five stops, one doorway

Each letter stands for one of the activities written into the company's registration. No stop promises a brand, a harvest, a price or a quantity on hand: today's stock on any shelf depends on restocking, so the surest move is to ask before heading out.

    Pantry

    Cupboard and fridge food for ordinary days, sold retail in household amounts. This is the company's main line of business and the reason the door opens at all.

    Bottles and cans

    Drinks for the dinner table or for the guest who turns up unannounced. Any alcoholic drink on offer is sold only to customers aged eighteen or older.

    Personal and home articles that vanish the very minute they are needed: little utilities, kitchen bits, things that would not fit under any other letter.

    Bathroom shelf

    Lotion, soap, scent, deodorant and whatever else lives near the sink. The shop resells what each maker packed; directions for using any item stay on the label written by whoever produced it.

    Household cleaning goods, listed in the registration as domestic sanitizing products. Store them away from children and from food, and dilute them as the packaging says.
